I had learnt vectors long back, in physics. It was used to represent force, velocity and some other random things. Force and velocity is all that I can recollect right now. Anyway. So basically vector = magnitude + direction. I learnt the formula and applied wherever necessary, and passed all my exams.
Today I found one more application of vectors. They can also be used to represent what every human possesses(I hope) : emotions. An emotion is usually associated with a person, a place, an incident or a thing. Such an emotion can be represented by a vector. Example: When I say that I love my brother, there a vector originating from me, say SS’, pointing towards him, with some magnitude(this magnitude usually doesnt have an absolute value, its relative). Interesting thing to note here is, emotion vectors can be bidirectional. So, if my brother loves me back, SS’ will become a bidirectional vector(magnitude wise, it will be relative obviously).
Some vectors, if bidirectional, increase the overall happiness in the universe. Love vector is one of them. Some vectors, however, should always be unidirectional, eg. anger. If it becomes a bidirectional one, it will only worsen the situation. Therefore, for such unidirectional vectors, there exists a complimentary vector, to keep the balance. Example: person X draws a unidirectional anger vector pointing towards Y. In this case, Y, instead of reciprocating the same, should remain quiet and calm for sometime, wait for X’s anger to passify and then explain to him his side of story.
If only the people start drawing the right vectors in right directions, the world will surely become a happier place.
Today I realize, vector wasn’t another Physics concept.
